PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for the stator core of a motor which can directly detect and determine the deterioration of the magnetic property itself of the motor core by a nondestructive means. SOLUTION: This method is for detecting abnormal state of the stator core, by detecting the partial magnetic property signal at the axial end face of the stator core of the motor that is in a state of energized rotation. To the motor with its working state in the stationary state, a detector is shifted to the specified position at the axial end face of the stator core. A partial magnetic property signal, detected with the detector or a property value derived from the signal, is compared with a fixed reference value which shows the normal state of the core and the abnormal state of the core is determined.
