PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescence detector constituted so as not to employ a means for performing spectral diffraction or the like using a filter and not to exert background fluorescence or the like on a detection sensitivity limit of fluorescence. SOLUTION: The fluorescence detector is equipped with: a first light detecting fiber 25 arranged in the vicinity of a measuring target 24 to propagate the fluorescence generated from the measuring target 24 by irradiation with exciting light; a second light detecting fiber 27 for propagating light having a wavelength near to that of fluorescence; and a photodetector 29 which receives fluorescence and light at the same time to detect a beat signal of light comprising the different frequency of fluorescence and light.
