PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve exhaust heat recovery efficiency in regard to an exhaust heat recovery system recovering thermal energy from exhaust heat of a heat engine. SOLUTION: The exhaust heat recovery system 10 recovers thermal energy from exhaust gas Ex exhausted from an internal combustion engine 1. In the exhaust heat recovery system 10, a first stirling engine 100A recovering the thermal energy of the exhaust gas Ex is arranged more in a downstream side in a flow direction of the exhaust gas Ex than a catalyst 5 purifying the exhaust gas Ex of the internal combustion engine 1. A second Stirling engine 100B recovering the thermal energy of the exhaust gas Ex is arranged in an upstream side in the flow direction of the exhaust gas Ex of the catalyst 5.
