A bed apparatus having an off-bed prediction/detection system for enabling the movement of the user to be accurately monitored by judging information including a combination of the weight information and center-of-gravity information on the user, reducing erroneous reports of off-bed detection, and having a high reliability. The bed apparatus comprises load measuring sections (3-1, 3-2, 3-3, 3-4) generating a load signal by detecting the load on the bed part (1), a body weight computing section for computing the body weight of the user present on the bed part (1) from the load signal, a first judging section for judging whether or not the body weight is a predetermined threshold or less, a center-of-gravity position computing section for computing the position of the center of gravity of the user from the load signal, and a second judging section for judging whether or not the position of the center of gravity is within a monitoring object area of the bed part (1). If the first judging section judges that the body weight is the predetermined threshold or less and the second judging section judges that the position of the center of gravity is within the monitoring object area, the bed apparatus detects the state of the user. |
