Method for cleaning parts made from aluminum or magnesium comprises contacting the parts with a first aqueous solution containing 0.2-0.5 % of a first composition made from an inorganic acid, two fatty alcohol-ethylene oxide-propylene oxide adducts (fatty alcohol-EO-PO) and a fatty alcohol ethoxylate and contacting the surface with a second aqueous solution containing 0.2-1.5 % of a second composition made from sodium hydroxide and phenol ethoxylate phosphate.
