SECURITY CLOSURE WITH ENHANCED UTILITY AND APPEARANCE

A security closure (1) is provided comprising a metal frame (2) to which is secured a series of spaced parallel rods (4) spanning the area within the frame to form a security closure. A series of louver slats (5) is supported on the spaced parallel rods with each rod passing longitudinally through a louver slat. The spaced parallel rods are preferably secured to the metal frame by welding. The louver slats are preferably rotatable, generally in unison with adjacent the slats, about their associated rods to render their inclination adjustable relative to the plane of the frame. The frame members of the frame preferably have an outer sheath (8, 9) fitted thereto in order to provide the metal frame with an aesthetically pleasing outer appearance. The outer sheath is conveniently made of the same material as the louvers and both sheath and louvers are typically manufactured in the form of extrusions.
