<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for adequately relaying a print-request message transmitted from a client to a device unit in a network compatible with network-type plug and play. <P>SOLUTION: A network-relay device conducts relay between a device unit, which has at least one service device providing services in response to a request from a client on a network, and a network. The network-relay device is provided with a data conversion module which converts a print-request message with a print target image described therein in a markup language, to data for a device unit and supplies the converted message to the device unit when the network-relay device receives the print-request message.
