PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of automatically setting presence information and a manner mode by managing the state of a portable terminal accurately. SOLUTION: Signal transmitters 21, 22 are installed inside and outside the doorway of an electric train, and transmit common location information "electric train" and signal source information "R1", "R2" for identifying each as control signals. When a cellular phone terminal 10 receives the control signal, the order of reception of the signal source information is reversed between the cases when the cellular phone terminal 10 enters and exits the electric train. The presence determination section in the cellular phone terminal 10 recognizes that the cellular phone terminal 10 has entered an electric train when receiving signals from "R1" to "R2", namely in the order of outside and inside, and determines the presence to be "inside the electric train".
