PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging element driving device capable of smoothly moving an imaging element along an optical axis even with a relatively small driving force. SOLUTION: The imaging element driving device includes: an imaging element holding section 18 which can hold the imaging element 22 with its imaging surface directed as predetermined and move it along the optical axis; a movable section 14 which is provided opposite the imaging element holding section 18 and can move to and away from the imaging element holding section 18; three inclination sections 50 provided on a surface of one of the movable section 14 and imaging element holding section which faces the other of the moving section 14 and imaging element holding section 18; three spheres 28 provided on a surface of the other of the movable section 14 and imaging element holding section 18 which faces the three inclination sections 50 to abut against the three inclination sections 50; and a driving section 16 which moves the imaging element 22 held by the imaging element holding section 18 while the surface direction of the imaging surface is maintained along the optical axis by changing positions where the three inclination sections 50 and three spheres come into contact with each other by moving the movable section 14.
