A system and a method for updating a digital map with concept of a distributed system are provided to obtain correct data, and reduce time, cost, and manpower needed for updating the digital map by installing update equipment to vehicles frequently using a road and collecting/selectively updating the data collected from the update equipment. A customer dissatisfaction aggregator(10) aggregates customer dissatisfaction for the digital map distributed to customers. A survey planner(20) aggregates an area and a data type to be updated in the digital map based on notification publicized from the Internet, mass communication, and government agencies. A local update notification aggregator(30) aggregates the customer dissatisfaction/survey plans by each area. A local distributed survey part(40) frequently updates update contents found in usual living, and obtains road cost/data suitable for a local condition according to update notification received from the local update notification aggregator. An integrated update processor(50) updates a central digital map by aggregating the data updated from the local distributed survey part. |
