An indoor unit for an air conditioner is provided to improve heat exchange efficiency by forming a PTC(Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater in a shape of a step to be heat exchanged with an indoor air during the applying of power. An indoor unit for an air conditioner includes a heater assembly. The heater assembly has a stepped exterior and includes a plurality of PTC heaters(210), a support bracket(220), and a mount panel(230). The plurality of PTC heaters heat cool air by generating heat when power is applied to the PTC heaters. The support bracket is installed below the PTC heaters. The supporting bracket is formed by folding a long rectangular plate several times having a stepped exterior to support the PTC heaters. The mount panel is coupled to a side of the support bracket and restricts the movements of the support bracket.
