An antiskid device for controlling the hydraulic pressure in a motor vehicle brake system in dependence on the acceleration and speed respectively of wheels of the vehicle by means of a signal transmitter at the input of a control system and an electronic circuit which triggers a final control element 5 such as an electromagnetically operated valve to influence the hydraulic brake system is so arranged that the signals produced for triggering the element 5 are produced in dependence on acceleration thresholds and speed thresholds. A D.C. generator 1 rotating with the wheel supplies a voltage, proportional to the rotary wheel speed, to a control system 4 whose circuit is closed by a pressure switch 6 when the brake pedal is operated and whose output triggers the element 5 when the input voltage is of a value lower than that corresponding to the initial speed. If the valve 5 is closed by the output signal of control system 4 the hydraulic pressure provided by master cylinder 7 cannot rise further and a bypass to a supply tank is opened, thus reducing the braking pressure. The deceleration threshold control system 3 receives its input from the same generator via a differentiating circuit 2 and controls the brake pressure in conventional manner by closing the input valve and opening the output valve at a predetermined deceleration value. |
