PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position reference base easily attachable to a device, and capable of surely fixing to the device. SOLUTION: The position reference base includes: a reflector mounting base 11 on the upper part; a columnar member 16 the bottom of which is flat and fitting to the reference hole of the pedestal opposite to the bottom; a base 10 provided with a plurality of recesses 15 at the bottom; a magnet units 20 thinner than the depth of the recesses 15 arranged in the plurality of recesses 15, respectively; and bolts 21 for vertically moving and holding each magnet unit 20 to the bottom in the plurality of recesses 15. Two positional reference bases can be used by connecting through the supporting member. Because, the positional reference base is surely fixed to the pedestal of the device, the precision of measurement of the position is improved, and also attaching/detaching to/from the pedestal is made easy.
