PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective cap structure for a stack that prevents the intrusion of rainwater and the like by capping a stack while an incinerator or the like is out of operation. SOLUTION: The protective cap structure for a stack, which is disposed at the top of a stack and installed to open or close a flue gas opening, comprises: arms having a pivot center near the stack top; a cap attached to the arms on one side and curved along a pivoting locus; counterbalances attached to the arms on the other side; a removable opening/closing assist rod; a first locking part for locking the cap in an open state; and a second locking part for locking the cap in a closed state. When an incinerator or the like is out of operation, a single operator can cap the stack to prevent the intrusion of rainwater and the like. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
