PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer using an alicyclic monomer efficiently enabling radical polymerization without using a metal catalyst when producing a resin excellent in heat resistance and having low hygroscopic property. SOLUTION: The polymer is obtained by using an alicyclic monomer represented by general formula (1) [wherein m and n are independently 0 or 1; R<SP>1</SP>is a substituted or unsubstituted 1-20C hydrocarbon group; R<SP>2</SP>to R<SP>9</SP>are independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted 1-20C hydrocarbon group or polar group which may be bonded through a linking group containing oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur or silicon to a ring structure described in formula (1)].
