PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic that exhibits excellent effects for restoring jumping or waving hair to its original state and imparts a good feel to hair. SOLUTION: The hair cosmetic comprises components (A)-(C) and has a pH (at the time of 20-fold dilution, 25°C) of 1-5.5: (A) at least one compound selected from among cationic surfactants, tertiary amine compounds represented by general formula (1), tertiary amine compounds represented by general formula (2) and salts of these tertiary amine compounds; (B) an 8-30C aliphatic alcohol; and (C) a quaternary ammonium salt represented by general formula (3). In the formulae, at least one of R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>3</SP>is an 8-23C aliphatic hydrocarbon group and the others are each H, a 1-6C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl, or benzyl; R<SP>4</SP>is a 1-6C alkylene; A is -CONH- or -NHCO-; a is 0 or 1; R<SP>5</SP>is a 6-24C alkyl or alkenyl; R<SP>6</SP>and R<SP>7</SP>are each a 1-6C alkyl or -(QO)<SB>b</SB>H (wherein Q is a 2-4C alkylene; and b is 1-6); R<SP>8</SP>is a 6-12C hydrocarbon group; R<SP>9</SP>and R<SP>10</SP>are each a 1-3C alkyl; n is 0-2; m is 1 or 2; and X<SP>-</SP>is a halide ion.
