PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which enables evaluation working after manufacturing/repair to be carried out greatly simply. SOLUTION: The printer is configured as an apparatus which carries out initialization processing of contents conformed to an initialization processing condition definition file/program file for investigation and prosecution (S103 and S105) when the printer is started while a USB memory with the initialization processing condition definition file or the program file for investigation and prosecution stored therein is set (S102; YES and S104; YES).
