A sample trituration vessel that even when the sample is relatively hard, enables triturating of the sample easily with high efficiency. There is provided a sample trituration vessel comprising tubular body (22) having opening (21) at its one end and having bottom part (23) at the other end thereof, wherein the tubular body (22) thereinside is furnished with rugged portion (25) so as to be able to meet rugged portion (44) formed on trituration rod (40). The sample trituration vessel per se can exert shearing effect on the sample. The tubular body (22) is constituted of a flexible material, and upon application of an external force from outside the tubular body (22), the tubular body (22) is deformed, thereby breaking down the sample held within the tubular body (22).
