<p>The present invention features methods of treating a reproductive disorder such as central precocious puberty, polycystic ovarian disease, endometriosis, irregular periods, or uterine fibroids, a proliferative disorder involving a sex steroid dependent cancer such as a prostate cancer, breast cancer, uterine cancer, or testicular cancer, or ovarian cancer in a patient by administering an agonist of GPR54 or a compound that continuously interferes with a biological activity of a GPR54 polypeptide and decreases this biological activity or by administering a compound that continuously occupies a GPR54 polypeptide and decreases a biological activity of the GPR54 polypeptide. Such compounds may also be used in methods of contraception and in the preparation for in vitro fertilization.</p> |
