An alarm recording method using a RAM disc in a monitoring DVR(Digital Video Recorder) is provided to move and store a temporary file recorded in a RAM disc region in a hard disc when an alarm is generated and delete the temporary file recorded in the RAM disc when uniform time elapses after the alarm is not generated. A monitoring DVR generates a RAM disc region in a memory(S10). The monitoring DVR records a monitoring image photographed through a monitoring camera as a temporary file in the generated RAM disc region(S11). The monitoring DVR moves and stores the temporary file recorded in the RAM disc in a hard disc according to whether an alarm is generated(S12,S14).
