<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide medical tubular member in which bending elastic modulus increases in a range from the distal end part of the tubular member to the proximal end part and which is strong in kink resistance and flexible in the distal end part and has high guiding operability and safety during operation, and a catheter. <P>SOLUTION: A tubular member employs polyimide as a main component. The tube has a shape comprising a base tube part and a different diameter part wherein the outer diameter expands stepwise at prescribed intervals from the base part in the longitudinal direction. Polyimide precursor solution is formed on a core material of a stainless steel wire etc. into the shape, heated to complete imidization, and then separated from the core material to obtain the product. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
