<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To focus on the distribution of pixel values, which are included in content, inside a color space for uniquely identifying the content. <P>SOLUTION: An inputted image is divided into a plurality of subsections, and in the divided subsections, color information included in the respective subsections is mapped in the color space. Based on the mapping result, clustering is carried out in the color space. On each cluster inside the color space, representative information is found, a feature quantity of the subsection is found from the representative information of the respective clusters, and an information string for the image as a whole is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
