PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition which is excellent in flame retardant properties, heat resistance, mechanical properties, oil resistance, wear resistance and pressed-contact properties and which copes with the environmental problems. SOLUTION: This flame-retardant resin composition comprises: 100 parts by mass of a resin component comprising 22 to 90% by mass of a polypropylene resin modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid, 10 to 78% by mass of an unmodified propylene-ethylene/propylene copolymer, 0 to 65% by mass of an unmodified polypropylene and 0 to 40% by mass of a styrene-based elastomer modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid; and 50 to 300 parts by mass of magnesium hydroxide, wherein the polypropylene resin modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid comprises a propylene-ethylene/propylene copolymer modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid and 5 to 90% by mass of the propylene-ethylene/propylene copolymer modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid is comprised in the above resin component.
