<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology capable of reducing the number of times of forcible regeneration of a filter in an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a particulate filter provided in an exhaust gas passage of the internal combustion engine and tentatively collecting particulate matter contained in exhaust gas, a collecting quantity estimation means estimating quantity of particulate collected by the particulate filter, and a filter regeneration means performing regeneration treatment of the particulate filter during stop of the internal combustion engine if the quantity of particulate estimated by the collecting quantity estimation means at a time of stop of the internal combustion engine is greater than the predetermined quantity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
