PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of decreasing capacity required for storing a processed document image. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus disclosed herein includes: an input means for inputting image data representing an image; a particularizing means for particularizing the expiration date of the image (S5) on the basis of the image data input by the input means (S1); an acquisition means for acquiring a present date and time; a discrimination means for discriminating whether or not the present date and time acquired by the acquisition means expires in the expiration date particularized by the particularizing means; and an image data generating means that generates and outputs image data for storing the image represented by the image data as an image log on one hand when the discrimination means discriminates that the present date and time is within the expiration date and does not generate image data for storing the image represented by the image data as the image log on the other hand (S7) when the discrimination means discriminates that the present date and time is out of the expiration date.
