PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical filter provided with substantially uniform transmission characteristics with respect to wavelength, and to provide a manufacturing method of the optical filter. SOLUTION: An optical filter member 10 which attenuates light of a visual light region is provided with: a flat plate 11 which has a flat-plate-shape and a feather-shape and has a predetermined hardness; and an optical filter 11a disposed so as to be shown with alternate long and short dash line on a part of the flat plate 11. At least the optical filter 11a on the flat plate 11 is provided with: a transparent substrate 31; a nickel layer 32 formed on the transparent substrate 31; and a CNT layer 33 formed on the nickel layer 32. The nickel layer 32 has such a characteristic that the transmittance of light decreases as the wavelength gets longer, and the CNT layer 33, as against the nickel layer 32, has such a characteristic that the transmittance of light increases as the wavelength gets longer. Since the optical filter 11a has two layers of such nickel layer 32 and CNT layer 33, the optical filter 11a has substantially uniform transmittance with respect to wavelength.
