<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically identify characteristics of an antenna connected to a wireless communication apparatus and automatically set the characteristics of the wireless communication apparatus accordingly. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic antenna identification system uses a resistor 9 and an A/D converter 7 to detect a current from a constant current source 18 for producing a current unique to the antenna 19, a current classification judgement unit 20 compares this current with classification currents for antenna classification in a database 21, when the current is almost coincident with any calculation current, the unit 20 searches antenna characteristic information corresponding to the calculation current from a database, gives this calculation current to the wireless communication apparatus 6, and the wireless communication apparatus 6 automatically adjusts its characteristic so as to be compatible with the antenna 19 and establishes the adjusted characteristic. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
