PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna system which can be made more compact and low-profile and has excellent unidirectional antenna characteristics. SOLUTION: The antenna system has a rectangular cavity antenna 2 which is equipped with a metal housing 3 in a nearly rectangular parallelepiped shape having one opening surface 4a and has uniform directivity, and a gate type antenna 3 which is equipped with a metal housing 5 in a nearly rectangular parallelepiped shape having a pair of opposed opening surfaces 5a and has 8-shaped directivity. In this case, the opening surface 4a of the rectangular cavity antenna and one of the pair of opening surfaces 5a, 5b of the gate type antenna 3 are arranged adjacently facing nearly in the same direction.
