PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC motor controller and an ink-jet recording device that allow a recording medium to be highly precisely transferred to a target position without being affected by a type of recording medium and characteristics of a DC motor. SOLUTION: When the recording medium is transferred in a direction opposite to the transfer direction caused by a state that a force (back tension) returning the recording medium in the direction opposite to the transfer direction is larger than a force generated by a current of an initial holding current value I<SB>f0</SB>, a current of a second current value higher than that of the initial holding current value I<SB>f0</SB>is outputted to a transfer motor instead of the current of the initial holding current value I<SB>f0</SB>. Consequently, the DC motor controller and ink-jet recording device have effects that the recording medium can be highly precisely transferred to the target position by correcting the back tension, even if the back tension is larger than the force generated by the current of the initial holding current value I<SB>f0</SB>.
