PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the breakage of a controlling spring 25 or the pull-out of a plug 28 even when great pulsation occurs in discharge pressure to be regulated by a regulating valve. SOLUTION: In the regulating valve 1, a valve element 24 accelerated by the elastic stress of the controlling spring 25 abuts on a bush 27 to displace the bush 27 when discharge pressure is pulsated to attain an upper limit value which is higher pressure than a regulated value. Thus, the discharge side of a low pressure pump 4 is communicated with the suction side thereof via a second flow-out port 32. Herein, the upper limit value is lower pressure than discharge pressure where the controlling spring 25 is broken or the plug 28 is pulled out, and it is set to be higher pressure than the regulated value. So, before the controlling spring 25 is broken or the plug 28 is pulled out, fuel can escape from the second flow-out port 32. As a result, even when great pulsation occurs in the discharge pressure, the breakage of the controlling spring 25 or the pull-out of the plug 28 are suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
