PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an emergency informing device for an elevator, capable of preventing information by mischief etc. and of securely informing a monitoring center about shutting-in failure when such failure occurs. SOLUTION: This emergency informing device for the elevator is provided with: a detecting means for detecting shutting-in failure of the elevator; an informing device 7 for informing the outside monitoring center 8 about shutting-in failure when it is detected by the detecting means; an indicator 2 provided inside a car 1; and a display controller 3 for displaying, on the indicator 2, information informed to the monitoring center 8 by using a telecommunications apparatus owned by a passenger inside the car 1, when the shutting-in failure is not successfully informed to the monitoring center 8 although such informing is retried predetermined numbers of times.
