摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane-electrode junction body for a solid polymer fuel cell that prevents the occurrence of dry-out on the anode side due to drying of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane over for a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: The membrane-electrode junction body for a solid polymer fuel cell is provided with: the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 2; a cathode catalyst layer 3 arranged on one face of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 2; and an anode catalyst layer 4 arranged on the other face of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 2. It is composed so as to arrange each gas diffusion layer 6 which is provided with a carbon layer 8 composed of a gas diffusion layer base material 5 and a sheet-like porous base material, at each mutually-opposite side of the cathode catalyst layer 3 and the anode catalyst layer 4. A water retainer 7 is provided between the gas diffusion layer base materials 5, 5 of both gas diffusion layers 6 and around the catalyst layers 3, 4 so as to make a film thickness part integrally provided to the solid polymer electrolyte membrane 2 as the water retainer 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
