PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt device capable of always keeping a positional relation between an acting member and the external circumferential face of a belt constant even if the belt is displaced. SOLUTION: The belt 40 is rotated in a predetermined direction by a drive roller 1. If a curving member 5 is displaced by stretch or shrink of the belt 40 or the belt 40 is slackened at the start of drive, the positional relation between the acting member 30 and the external circumferential surface of the belt may change. To counteract that, an opposite member 50 is disposed in contact with the internal circumferential face of the belt 40 and opposite the acting member 30 with the belt 40 between them. The opposite member 50 is formed from a material obtained by curving a resin or a light alloy. The opposite member 50 is disposed so that its curved face is in contact with the internal circumferential face of the belt 40. Accordingly, even if the belt 40 is displaced, the positional relation between the acting member 30 and the external circumferential face of the belt 40 is always kept constant.
