摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reacting phenol (PH) with acetone (AC) to produce bisphenol A (BPA) in the presence of an ion exchange resin catalyst (catalyst), which enables the prevention in the deterioration of the catalyst in a reactor on the stoppage of the reaction in a periodic check, the inhibition in the activity lowering of the catalyst also after the restart of the operation, and the stable production of the BPA over a long period. SOLUTION: This method for producing the BPA, including a reaction process for supplying PH raw material and AC raw material into a reactor charged with a catalyst to obtain the reaction solution containing BPA is characterized by including an operation for once stopping the reaction and then restarting the reaction, including (a) an operation for reducing the supply of the AC raw material into the reactor and then simultaneously stopping the supply of the AC raw material and the PH raw material, or (b) an operation for stopping the supply of the AC raw material and then stopping the supply of the PH raw material, and controlling the water concentration of the liquid portion in the reactor after the stop in the supply of the PH raw material to 0.5 to 2 wt.%.
