PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat assembly capable of effectively operating a headrest in the direction of an occupant by more efficiently and quickly transmitting force from the occupant to a headrest system at the time of a collision. SOLUTION: A vehicle seat assembly has a backrest frame and an active headrest system. The active headrest system is provided with the headrest capable of moving between an erected position and an operation position in relation to the backrest frame in response to an input added to the active headrest system. The headrest is biased to resist moving from the erected position to the operation position.
