PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact crawler type tractor having a high minimum ground clearance. SOLUTION: The compact crawler type tractor 1 is equipped with a crawler type travel device 80 which has crawler frames 81L, 81R rotatably supporting a driven idler and drive sprockets 60L, 60R mounted to a rear axle on both sides, and where a crawler is wound between the driven idler and the drive sprocket under part of an upper vehicle body. For a drive system of the compact crawler type tractor, a hydraulic transmission mechanism for steering composed of a pump for a hydraulic variable speed turning and a motor for a hydraulic variable speed turning which turn a machine body responding to a rotation driving of the steering is connected, and a trunnion arm of the pump for the hydraulic variable speed turning is connected with a steering arm and a rod of a steering cam mechanism outputting the rotation driving of the steering.
