The purpose-made block of cuboid contour, with at least two channel-like cavities (14), has a plug-in element (24) of a plug-in component (20) , which is fixed in the cavity, protruding from the latter, wherein the plug-in element can engage in the approximately aligning free cavity of an adjacent other block and be fastened therein. The plug-in element has a bottle-like shape and fixed in the cavity by its basic body (22), wherein a neck (24) which protrudes from the basic body extends outside an end face (12) of the block. An independent claim is included for a mold which is for production of a purpose-made block for building work.
