PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a pickup from being soiled by a lubricant without reducing productivity of a disk drive unit. SOLUTION: A disk drive unit has a tray 3 that carries a disk and moves in a carry-in direction and a carry-out direction of the disk. On the tray 3, wall-like projections 34, 36 are provided, which project to a side opposite to a surface for carrying the disk. A space G for allowing insertion of the wall-like projections 34, 36 is provided between a pickup 6 and a lead screw 13. The wall-like projections 34, 36 on the tray 3 are interposed between the pickup 6 and the lead screw 13 in a condition that the tray 3 is moved in the disk carry-in direction and thus carries the disk to a drive position.
