PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable slide rail locking mechanism capable of reducing the cost and weight thereof by reducing the number of components, enhancing the mountability and the degree of versatility of the seat layout, and easily setting the locking force. SOLUTION: A lock piece 10 has an elastically deformable structure, and maintains a lock of a lock claw 16 provided on the lock piece 10 to a locking claw 4 provided on a lower rail 2 side. Thus, a spring for holding the lock need not be provided as an exclusive member like a conventional locking mechanism. The structure of the locking mechanism is simplified, the mountability thereof is enhanced, and the manufacturing cost and the weight can be reduced. Since the elastically deforming direction of the lock piece 10 is transverse, the locking force of the lock piece 10 is not affected by the self weight of the lock piece 10. The locking force can be easily and correctly set, and the operational reliability of the locking mechanism can be enhanced accordingly. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
