PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for determining the perspiration of a crew member inside a vehicle. SOLUTION: By paying attention to the fact that a face surface temperature change rateΔTF is different when a crew member on a driver's seat side perspires by the natural flow of air inside a vehicle compartment and when it is not the case, a microcomputer 11 determines that the crew member on the driver's seat side is perspiring when the change rateΔTF of a face surface temperature TF detected by using an IR sensor 10 is larger than a prescribed value Th1 and determines that the crew member is not perspiring when it is not the case. Thus, the perspiration state of the crew member on the driver's seat side is easily determined just by using the IR sensor 10, and the perspiration state is determined always regardless of whether or not it is immediately after the crew member gets on the vehicle or whether or not prescribed time has elapsed.
