<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that printing cannot be continued by selecting the other paper feeding tray in a situation where an image forming apparatus is immediately turned in an off-line state and is disable to communicate with an external host apparatus if no printing paper is present in a paper feeding tray selected to feed the paper, and hence the image forming apparatus is not returned until the printing sheets of paper are replenished in the paper feeding tray. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: an I/F transmission and reception processing part 2 for carrying out the transmission and reception of data with the host apparatus; a plurality of paper feeding trays 67 and 68; an analyzing/editing processing part 3 for analyzing the received data and outputting printing starting information SELI which determines the paper feeding tray to feed the printing sheets of paper when printing among the plurality of paper feeding trays; a sensor part for detecting whether or not the printing sheets of paper are stored; and a control part 16. In the case where the printing sheets of paper are not present in the paper feeding tray determined by the printing starting information SELI on the basis of the detected result of the sensor part and the printing starting information SELI, the transmission and reception of data by the I/F transmission reception processing part 2 is stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
