<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform sure determination of short circuiting and protection by preventing wrong determination of the short circuiting of a power switching element. <P>SOLUTION: When both the determining circuits of a determination circuit which determines short circuiting from the logic discrepancy between the voltage between the collector and the emitter of an IGBT and the ON/OFF of its gate command and a determination circuit which determines the detected current by a current detector HCT has exceeded the level of a short-circuiting current to obtain determined output, an IGBT drive circuit or a short-circuit protection circuit DD obtains short-circuit determination and protection output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
