<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information reader capable of preventing a display of a cellular phone from being scratched. <P>SOLUTION: A cushioning material 20 is provided in a reading port 12 of the optical information reader 10 to locate the cellular phone 50 on the cushioning material 20. The cellular phone 50 is thereby brought into a horizontal condition, and a distance between the cellular phone 50 and the reading port 12 gets constant, to read surely optical information comprising a displayed QR code Q. The display 52 of the cellular phone 50 is precluded from contacting directly with the reading port 12, with the cushioning by the cushioning material 20, even when an operator brings the cellular phone 50 into push contact with the reading port 12 of the optical information reader 10, and the display 52 of the cellular phone 50 is precluded from being scratched by contacting with the reading port 12, because a support column 16 for supporting the cushioning material 20 is contracted, even when the cellular phone 50 is pressed strongly further. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
