PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing an optical glass element with little variation, by stably performing press-molding of molten glass dropped from a nozzle of a melting tank. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the optical element by performing press-molding of a glass material in a pair of upper and lower dies, the entire molding atmosphere is prepared as a closed space, and the temperature variation in the molding atmosphere is controlled to±5°C.
