Device (1) has a fastening mechanism which is connected with a member e.g. backrest (5), headrest (4) or headrest fixture plate (2) of vehicle seat (3). At least a supporting element is linked with fastening mechanism. A hanger arm is linked with supporting element whereby the supporting element and the hanger arm can be tilted between a non-operational position and an operational position. The supporting element and the hanger arm are arranged behind or on top of each other substantially horizontal and parallel to the rear face of the backrest or the headrest in the non-operational position. The supporting element is straightened up in operational position around a first axis and hanger arm are folded up around second axis running transverse to the rear broadside of backrest or headrest. The supporting element and the hanger arm jointly form a stand in the respective operational position, the stand being placed at a sufficient distance from the member to be able to suspend an object e.g. a piece of garment.
