RUN-FLAT SUPPORT FOR PNEUMATIC TIRE

A run-flat support for pneumatic tire that while maintaining its lightweightness, attains a durability enhancement. Run-flat support (1) is composed of circular shell (2) and elastic rings (3) respectively fitted to the distal ends of both leg portions of the circular shell (2). In the cross-section of the circular shell (2), the outer circumferential side is formed into multiple convexly protruding support portions (2a) and concave linking portion (2b) as a linkage between the support portions (2a). The inner circumferential side is formed into paired right and left leg portions (2c) respectively radially inside extending from both sides of the support portions (2a) so as to straddle in bifurcated form. The main body of the circular shell (2) consists of a metal or ceramic. Fiber reinforced resin layer (4) having reinforcing long fibers arranged so as to cross each other in the circumferential direction is bonded to at least the inner circumferential surface of the linking portion (2b).
