摘要 <p>Disclosed is a biomarker which enables the prevention of tissue damage or cell necrosis by administration of a medicine and also enables the easy and rapid detection of the presence of oxidative stress placed on a living body, and which is a promising marker for the examination of pharmacokinetics of various substances. It is known that the level of ophthalmic acid in the blood varies depending on the concentration of reduced glutathione (GSH) in a biological sample. The presence or absence of oxidative stress can be determined by measuring the ophthalmic acid level in the blood on an analyzer such as a capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometer or the like. Further, an anti-oxidative stress agent can be screened by administering a candidate substance for the anti-oxidative stress agent to a non-human animal suffering from oxidative stress, determining the ophthalmic acid level in the blood in the animal, and evaluating the degree of decrease in ophthalmic acid level in the animal.</p>
