摘要 A method and an apparatus for controlling the demodulation of code channels in a mobile communication system having a variable code channel length and a variable code channel length are provided to minimize the computation load and power consumption of a demodulator by excluding unnecessary operation in demodulating a code channel. An apparatus for controlling the demodulation of code channels in a mobile communication system having a variable code channel length and a variable code channel length comprises a stage calculator(302a), a state calculator(302b), an IFHT(Inverse Fast Hadamard Transform) state validity confirmer(302c), and an IFHT state operator(304). The stage calculator counts each stage. The state calculator counts each state at each stage. The IFHT state validity confirmer, based on a counted stage value, a counted state value, and the code of a code channel to be demodulated, checks whether the execution of operation for the present state is required. The IFHT state operator executes the butterfly-type addition and subtraction of the present state for each stage according to the decision of the IFHT state validity confirmer.
