A method of driving a display device is provided to improve image quality of the display device by reducing a false contour from a displayed image without increasing the number of sub-frames. One frame is divided into plural sub-frames to represent grayscale of an image. The sub-frames include plural middle-range sub-frames, at least one high sub-frame, and at least one low sub-frame. The middle-range sub-frames have middle-ranged weighted values and are used in an overlapping time grayscale scheme. The high sub-frame has a greater weighted value than the middle-range sub-frame and is used in a binary code time grayscale scheme. The low sub-frame has a smaller weighted value than the middle-range sub-frame and is used in the binary code time grayscale scheme. Activation states of the middle-ranged, high, and low sub-frames in respective pixels are selected every frame.
