A data processing device and a program data setting method thereof are provided to reduce a manufacturing cost by removing a connector for connecting each microcomputer and a program provider, and a program for connecting the connector to the microcomputers, as each microcomputer downloads program data from the program provider in response to switching of a switch. The connector(110) transceives data by connecting to the program provider(200). The first microcomputer(120) stores the program data received from the program provider through the connector. The second microcomputer(130) is connected to the first microcomputer and stores the program data received from the program provider through the connector. The switch(140) switches connection between the first or second microcomputer, and the connector in response to control of the first microcomputer. The second microcomputer includes a state value changed in response to downloading of the program data. The first microcomputer recognizes a current state of the second microcomputer by detecting the state value of the second microcomputer.
